Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)
Targeted electrical therapy for pain, inflammation, and tissue repair.
FSM uses low-level electrical currents, delivered at precise frequencies, to communicate directly with injured or inflamed tissue. It's one of the more clinically sophisticated tools available for conditions that are complex, layered, or slow to respond to other treatments.
How it Works
FSM uses low-level electrical currents, delivered at precise frequencies, to communicate directly with injured or inflamed tissue. It's one of the more clinically sophisticated tools available for conditions that are complex, layered, or slow to respond to other treatments.
What to Expect
Sessions are quiet and completely painless. Most patients find them relaxing. You'll lie comfortably while the current is delivered through dampened cloths or electrode pads placed on or near the treatment area. Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes depending on the complexity of your case.
Many patients notice a shift in pain or tissue quality during or immediately following treatment. For chronic or complex conditions, a series of sessions is usually recommended to sustain progress.
Common questions about EAV answered below.
Conditions FSM is commonly used for:
Fibromyalgia
Nerve pain and neuropathy
Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
Post-surgical tissue and scar adhesions
Disc and spine injuries
Concussion and traumatic brain injury
Shingles and post-herpetic neuralgia
Tendon and ligament injuries
Mold and environmental illness
Central sensitization

FSM at Current Wellness
Jennifer integrates FSM into your broader treatment plan at Current Wellness rather than use it in isolation. It works especially well alongside acupuncture, manual therapy, and targeted supplementation, where each modality reinforces the others. For patients with conditions that have been difficult to treat, this combination approach often produces results that neither therapy achieves alone.
QUESTIONS & RESOURCES
Frequency Specific Microcurrent:
Common Questions
Answers to the questions people ask most, and other helpful resources.
-
Frequency Specific Microcurrent uses very low-level electrical current -- millionths of an amp, far below what you can feel -- delivered at specific frequencies matched to different tissues and conditions. The current is thought to shift cellular function, reduce inflammation, and support tissue repair. Jennifer completed the full FSM training series with Kim Pittis from 2020 through 2023, including the core curriculum, pain, neurology, advanced, sports, and symposium tracks.
-
No. The current used in FSM is subsensory -- most people feel nothing, or occasionally a mild warmth. It's safe, non-invasive, and well-tolerated even by people with significant pain sensitivity.
-
FSM is particularly effective for nerve pain, fibromyalgia, central sensitization, concussion and TBI, hypermobility and connective tissue conditions like EDS, post-surgical scar tissue, disc herniations, and complex chronic pain that hasn't responded to other approaches.
-
Jennifer often combines FSM with acupuncture, manual therapy, or other modalities in the same session. The combination can amplify results, especially in complex cases.
